A poem dedicated to my mother
I believe that teaching this subject should be held in the same regard as other sciences, such as physics or chemistry. Otherwise, students may be unwittingly contributing to the ruination of the planet. Lack of awareness about environmental injustice in the state hinders students’ ability to make communities such as Newark a safer place for all.

In writing this, I stand firm in my belief that the modern effects of colonialism will continue to penetrate the goods of our society as long as we allow it to. In my perfect world, the way to combat this modern colonialism is through an equally accessible education for all people.
In the last year, I have studied the history of Documentary Photography in-depth and in detail. I wrote this piece to share my findings of how Doc. Photo. has been used as successful propaganda as a tool of activism for American people.
